Villa Baan Phu Prana – Phuket’s Luxurious Side
Thailand‘s island Phuket used to have a party reputation, with backpackers lining the streets for cheap cocktails and partying until early morning.
But its reputation is changing as five star hotels and restaurants open along the Andaman coast. Phuket has also a luxurious side.
I recently had the chance to stay at the amazing Villa Baan Phu Prana – a luxury private boutique villa about 30 minutes away from Putong.
Villa Baan Phu Prana is located within a guarded community on Surin Hill with stunning views over Surin, Bangtao and the west coast of Phuket.
The Villa stands high above the bay (a very steep walk), facing north and west stunning sun sets out over the Indian Ocean.
It’s only 100 metres away from the best restaurants, International and Thai cuisine, beautiful boutiques and the Surin beach.
The upscale area has a completely different feel than busy and loud Putong Beach. Here you can completely relax, far away from the crowds.
About Villa Baan Phu Prana
Villa Baan Phu Prana in Phuket is not a typical hotel – the boutique villa aims to be a home for its guests. Featering only 8 rooms, the property is beautifully appointed with art work, a mix of Asian and Western furnishings and a breathtaking inifity roof top pool.
The staff is very attentive, but not too pushy. Just the right level of service.
The views from the sundeck and the infinity pool on the roof deck were simply stunning. Especially during sunset!
All bedrooms have a balcony or terrace and own private space, each with high quality en-suite bathroom facilities, TV, DVD, CD and free Wi-Fi (super fast, as each room has its own router).
Build on three levels, the slope hugging design allows for maximum privacy in each section of the villa. And it is very quiet and peaceful, I slept like a baby!
Most of the rooms offer sea view and becaue the villa is located so high up on the hill, chilling on your own balcony/terrace in the evening with a bottle of wine was just the perfect finish of each day.
My room even had an outdoor bathtub with sea view – how gorgeous is that?
Food and other Facilities
Between second and third floor you can find an open-air apa with sauna and steam bath, a small gym, jacuzzi and 2 massage tables, shower and dressing room. It’s not big, but has everything you need to relax.
If you get hungry or just like to have a drink, there is a restaurant right next to the infitity pool with the same amazing vistas over Surin and the sea. It serves Thai and International dishes, all freshly prepared and of great taste and quality.
Prices are decent too and about the same as if you would dine out at the restaurants located in the area.
Breakfast is served every day until 11am (great for people you like to sleep in).
Due to the limited number of guests, you won’t find a breakfast buffet. Instead, fresh fruits, juice, coffee, tea, bread, pastries and a eggs are freshly prepared just for you.
They even offered me some parmesan cheese, Italian ham and salami. So yummy.
Overall Villa Baan Phu Prana Phuket is the perfect place for people who value quality service and want to chill out away from the crowds and the buzzling party scene.
